Aims of the workshop:
- To finalise with partners best practice ideas arising from the project on health sector interventions to address domestic violence in primary and maternity care settings in Europe.
- To agree with partners the function, content and maintenance of the project website.
- To agree with partners final outputs from the project including the final report, publicity leaflets with key results and submission of a joint publication to a European journal.
- To identify gaps in European research on health sector interventions to address gender violence and discuss future studies and funding sources.
DAY 1 (Mary Ward Centre): Daphne Project Findings
10:00am–10:30am: Coffee & Registration 10:30am–10:40am: Opening by Chair Sirkka Perttu, Consultant in Gender Violence and Health, University of Helsinki, Finland 10:40am–11:30am: Dr Loraine Bacchus, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Presentation of Daphne project key findings and proposed recommendations for good practice. 11:30am–12:30pm: Group discussion to agree on good practice findings for each country and across Europe 12:30pm–1:30pm: Lunch 1:30pm–2:00pm: Group discussion on research recommendations 2:00pm–2:30pm: Dr Loraine Bacchus, LSHTM Presentation of main ideas for outputs and dissemination of results (i.e. professionally designed leaflets with key results in different languages, demonstration of the project website, and joint paper for publication in a journal). 2:30pm–2:45pm:: Tea Break 2:45pm–3:30pm: Group discussion on outputs: publicity materials/website/group paper for publication 3:30pm–4:00pm: Dr Loraine Bacchus, LSHTM Presentation on Daphne’s approach to reconciliation of the budget: what is expected from each partner for the final financial evaluation of the project? 4:00pm: Close Suggestion: Invitation to dinner at a nearby restaurant in Charlotte Street at 6:00/6:30pm Pescatori Ritzrovia, 57 Charlotte Street (Italian Fish Restaurant) Dinner at 6:30pm Pescatori Ritzrovia, 57 Charlotte Street
